2nd Annual Search for Ten Outstanding BHW in Caloocan City


ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

The Search for Ten Outstanding Barangay Health Workers in Caloocan City is an advocacy campaign aimed to extol the virtues of Barangay Health Workers in providing primary health care, basic health education, and referrals to a wide range of health services. It recognizes BHWs who play significant role in bridging the gap between health service providers and the underserved and hard-to-reach populations within the community.

Kalipunan ng mga Sektor sa Caloocan (KASECA, Inc.), Caloocan Health Department (CHD), and the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement (PRRM) believe that by recognizing the outstanding performance of the BHWs will raise people’s awareness on the sublime nature and valuable contribution of the BHWs to the community thereby encouraging them to strive for excellence in providing support and services to the people through the health care system of Caloocan City.


GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• A registered Barangay Health Worker with accreditation from the Local Health Board
• Actively participating in all activities of Caloocan Health Department and have
been render services for at least two (2) years in the community
• Shall have undergone training on Primary Health Care and attended different
outreach activities, seminars, and conferences on health
• Respected in community, a role model for youth and has engaged in socio-civic
activities
• The nominees shall be nominated by the partner health center where the BHW is
providing his/her services with a recommendation letter from the Physician-
in-charge.

* The search is open to all BHWs of all ages, provided, they have met the general requirements.

CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION

• Person of integrity and morality
• In good relations with colleagues, community members, and family
• Commitment and dedication to the health service
• Strength of values/principles applied in health services and personal life
• Involvement in community activities
• Length of service

WHO ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO JOIN

• BHWs who have previous or pending administrative, civil or criminal cases
• BHWs who were prosecuted in any civil or criminal cases
• BHWs who were suspended, reprimanded or sanctioned for violation of any
administrative policies

SEARCH PROCESS

Nomination

1. Partner health centers can nominate qualified BHW’s.
2. Nomination forms are available at Caloocan Health Department or any member of KASECA


Submission of Nomination Forms

1. The nomination form and other requirements must be submitted to Mrs. Vilma dela
Cruz, 3rd Floor Caloocan Health Department, Caloocan City
2. Nominations may also be sent to kaseca@gmail.com
3. Deadline of submission of nomination forms is on November 14, 2008.


Evaluation of Nominations by the Screening Committee

1. The Screening Committee evaluates the nomination forms based on the criteria and
determines the short-listed nominees.


Validation and Interview / Establishment of Profile / Background Check

1. Short-listed nominees are contacted and an interview is scheduled.
2. The interview validates the qualification of the nominee and establishes his/her
profile.
3. Based on the results of the interview and background check, the Screening
Committee selects the finalists.


Selection of Honorees

1. From the finalists, the Board of Judges selects the Ten (10) Outstanding BHWs of
Caloocan City


Awarding of Ten Outstanding BHW’s

1. The Ten Outstanding BHWs will be awarded during the BHWs Christmas party.

Pagkilala sa kakayahan ng mga BHW


Nakipagdayalogo ang mga opisyal ng KASECA kay Councilor Susan Punzalan upang hingiin ang suporta nito sa pagpasa ng isang resolusyon para sa taunang pagkilala sa tulong na nagagawa ng mga Barangay Health Worker. Maganda ang naging tugon ng konsehal, ayon sa kanya "panahon na para bigyan ng parangal ang mga BHW sa tulong na nagagawa nito sa Caloocan Health Department upang mapanatili ang maayos na kalusugan ng mamamayan sa Caloocan".

BABAE Alamin ang 4K

Sa pangalawang pagkakataon ay naisagawa ang pagbibigay ng mga libreng serbisyo at inmpormasyon sa mga nanay ng Barangay 20 at kalapit barangay nito. Ang mga libreng serbisyo na naibigay ay ang mga sumusunod:

Sa pangkalahatan ay nakapagbigay ng iba't-ibang serbisyo sa 449 na residente ng Caloocan City. Kasabay ng mga libreng serbisyo ay mga talakayan sa pagpaplano ng pamilya, VAWC at responsableng pagmamagulang. Maliban sa libreng serbisyo at impormasyon, may namigay din ng mga sumusunod:
